16. No Emmy for Cox
At one point, it seemed Courtney Cox would be the standout actor from the show. She was the first to break out into movies, paying Melissa Robinson in Ace Ventura, which starred another rising star, Jim Carrey. But back on Friends, Cox was persona non grata next to Aniston. It was Kudrow and Aniston who received the Emmy nods, not Cox. “The only time I was like, ‘Whoa!’ was [when Kudrow and Aniston] were both nominated and not me. That’s when it’s like, ‘I have a lesson to learn here,’” Cox told TVLine in 2011. “I had a hard time not taking it personally.” Cox went on to star in her own series, Cougar Town.
