9. Lasers
This was inevitable. We all knew that one day war would be fought with lasers. The U.S. has been working on them since Reagan (at least) and so have the Russians. According to them, their laser tech is on par with the U.S. If that’s true, then we both have the tech to take out each other’s machines of war like a science fiction movie. All of this tech is super classified so we won’t know until the bullets and bombs start flying. Best case scenario, both countries can target and disable nukes with lasers, rendering the nuclear holocaust irrelevant.
