8. Aircraft Carriers
According to AIN Online, Russia has designs on a aircraft carrier in the big AF category, as big as the largest U.S. carriers. The design, a 1,000-plus foot, 100,000 metric ton nuclear-powered carrier, Russia revealed at the annual St. Petersburg defense show in 2015. Designing the carrier is one thing. Building one is a whole ‘nother bag of blame-the-other-guy for why Russia can’t afford it.
