16. Some Seasons They Filmed in Color
By 1954, the show had the budget and the means to film episodes in color, which they did. The crazy detail of this was that they still aired them in black and white. The march of progress brought more color sets into homes by the ’60s, so reruns aired in color in 1965, at least the ones filmed after 1954. Had they let the previous play in color, brown and gray Superman would have been a bizarre couple of seasons. Obviously, that wouldn’t have been possible since they filmed those early episodes using black and white film. They could, however, more easily colorize those old ones now.
