Some of your children may recognize this car before even the most knowledgeable gearhead, because it happened to be one of the characters in Pixar’s Cars 2. It’s the Plymouth Superbird that was actually made famous by “The King” of NASCAR, Richard Petty, who interestingly was the voice actor for the car in the film. The Superbird was a follow up to the Dodge Charger Daytona for the 1970 NASCAR season. The massive tail wing was even taller than the one seen on the Charger Daytona, and the nosecone measured almost 20 inches sticking out the front of the car. Under the hood, there were three options, the most powerful of course was the 426 Hemi, but you could also get the 440 Super Commando and Super Commando Six-Pack.
