23. Ross Perot – $3.7 Billion
With a net worth over $3.7 billion, we had to include Ross Perot, even though technically he never won the presidency when he ran in both 1992 and 1996. While his luck in the elections never panned out, Perot has still been extremely successful in his life. He started working at IBM in 1957 and worked there for five years before branching out to start his own company Electric Data Systems. This turned out to be a thriving business and Perot made billions over the years after going public in 1968.
22. Kim Jong-il – $4 Billion
Kim Jong-il was the former “Supreme Leader” of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or North Korea according to the rest of the world, until his passing in December of 2011. To give you an idea of what type of person he was, he actually made an amendment to North Korea’s constitution stating he must be referred to as the “Supreme Leader”. Aside from that, he was also the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, which is the fourth largest standing army in the world. Upon his passing, his third son Kim Jong-un succeeded him and also inherited his massive $4 billion fortune.
