15. Balaklava Submarine Base: Crimea
Located in the disputed region of Sevastopol, Crimea, Balaklava is a former city on the Crimean Peninsula. Russia claims it as theirs, but Ukraine begs to differ. The matter remains an open debate and sensitive international subject. What remains undisputed is that Soviets once built the super secret naval base on the shore of the Black Sea. From the surface of the Black Sea, the entrance to the submarine base is almost invisible to the untrained eye. Today it serves as a museum for the Cold War and the Crimean War.
