12. The Nine Hour Episode
If three hours sounds atrocious, imagine a nine-hour episode of “Wonderama.” It’s not so hard to imagine sitting and watching the same show all day. Today we call that binging. The 1956 production of “Wonderama” was nine hours long. Among many other events, Sandy Becker and his crew put on a full-length puppet show telling of Charles Dickens’ story, “A Christmas Carol.” The show was a hit. They did it again the next year and in 1959. When producers rebooted the show in 2016, they ran the nine-hour Christmas special again.
