14. Wonderama Gift Bags
Many children’s shows adopted this idea. They would gift children with bags of gifts from the show’s sponsors. They filled the bags with sweets and treats, including ice cream and whole boxes of Twinkies. Candy, Fruit Stripe gum, RC Cola, comic books, and even vinyl records made it into the bags. Once, the bags even contained a bagel on a string. Every audience member walked away with a bag, reason enough to go see the show live.
