15. Three Hour Tour
When the crew and passengers of the S.S. Minow boarded that vessel, it was for a three-hour tour. It took years for them to get off that island. “Wonderama” was a three-hour show, which might be why it lasted for years. Today, one couldn’t hold children’s attention for one hour let alone three. At the time “Wonderama” aired, fans of the show felt it didn’t last long enough! They asked for more so they got it. By the ’60s, the studio expanded the show to a single weekday episode in addition to the Sunday three-hour tour.
