3. Volkswagen Golf
The only car on the long list of vehicles made by Automotive powerhouse Volkswagen to beat the Beetle, is the Golf. Although when it first came of the assembly line in 1974 it was under the name Rabbit. The Golf was extremely popular due to its short wheelbase which allowed the car to be incredible agile with superb handling. Volkswagen offered many different trim levels, including an option for a diesel and later would even offer a performance version with a V6 motor and all wheel drive making it one of the funnest cars to drive on the list.
