We are going to go with just a “Jeep” category and include all jeeps in it because otherwise it would probably take up most of the list. The O.G. Willy’s, Cherokee (the old one not that new monstrosity), Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, wrangler unlimited, Rubicon, Comanche and so on, you get my point. Jeeps are the shit, there really is no arguing that. The have figured out this four wheel drive thing and are using it to the fullest, ok so maybe not with the patriot and the compass but forget about those. so specifically lets talk about the Wrangler and CJ models. The short wheel base allows for mush shorter approach and decent angles which made them perfect for things like rock crawling. Once you add some suspension lift to them and start disconnecting sway bars you are able to get quite a bit of flex out of them which kept the tires in contact with the rock even when you wouldn’t think it was possible. If you are ever in the Moab Utah area go check out the red rocks and you will immediately see what we are talking in about. If there is one negative thing about these vehicles is that they are slightly under powered, at least these new wranglers. With exception of the the new Trailcat concept that jeep released where they took the hellcat motor and stuffed it into a stretched wrangler chassis, almost all new Wranglers have a V6 engine in them. It might be a semi potent Penstar V6 but it is still a V6. Lets go back to the CJ days when they had V8’s under the hood. Even in its stock form though, the Wrangler and Cj’s are arguably the best all around Off Road Vehicles on the market today.
