2. The Real Wyatt Earp
Did you know there was an actor named Wyatt Earp in the film? He played Billy Claiborne, one of the outlaws from the famous O.K. Corral scene. The real Claiborne didn’t make it far. He died at age 22 in a drunken gunfight. In the movie, the actor who played him wasn’t coincidentally named Earp. He was the fifth cousin of the real Wyatt Earp. As an actor, Earp doesn’t have Robert Mitchum or Charlton Heston’s resume, but he’s managed to land some voiceover work. More importantly, his name and lineage lend a smidgen of credit to “Tombstone.”
