3. Robert Mitchum

Another venerable actor, Robert Mitchum, acted in Hollywood for most of his life until the year he passed in 1997. He was to have a role as Old Man Clanton in “Tombstone,” but he suffered a fall on the first day of filming. When Mitchum fell, he injured his back. At the time, he was already in his late 70s. The fall pain was too much to continue. Audiences still had the pleasure of Mitchum’s presence as he narrated the beginning and end of the movie.
