9. A 1940s Western

When they shot Westerns back in the day, they filmed in sequence, one master shot. That was how Jarre wanted to film Tombstone, but it created problems. Jarre was stubborn about his idea. It cost time and money right away. As the production went off schedule, he dug his heels in more. “Val and Kurt, and Jim Jacks were looking at dailies thinking, ‘This is not a modern retelling of an old story,’” Beihn told Movie Web. “[They said,] ‘This looks like it’s an old Western that is being shot back in the 40s.’ That’s what Kevin wanted. That’s what he fought for. And that’s what he eventually got fired for.”
