5. Tony Campolo
While most of these preachers fall on the right side of the political spectrum, Campolo is a Democrat and the former spiritual advisor to President Bill Clinton. He started the Red-Letter Christian movement, with the intention to emphasize the teachings of Jesus. Campolo graduated Seminary in 1956 and earned his Ph.D. after that. He is an ordained Baptist Minister and still practices in West Philadelphia. Campolo appears as a regular on talk shows, discussing politics and religion often irritating the Christian right.
