In 1989, O.J. Simpson pleaded no contest to charges of spousal abuse. The news shocked everyone that wasn’t familiar with Brown and Simpson’s relationship. Those that truly knew them knew that O.J. was prone to fits of anger and jealousy.

Brown filed for divorce in 1992, but O.J. remained abusive and obsessed. In 1993, Brown called the police in tears and begged for help as she felt that O.J. was “going to beat the ****” out of her. Still, O.J. was able to escape major legal trouble.

12. The Shockingly Violent Murder

Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found murdered on June 12, 1994. Brown and Goldman were close, but they weren’t seen as lovers. What you may not know about their deaths was that the murders were especially violent. They were stabbed multiple times and Nicole’s head was almost severed.

What you do know is that jealous and resentful O.J. Simpson was seen as a person of interest. His status was quickly upgraded to primary suspect when O.J. failed to turn himself in and fled from police on June 17, 1994.
