3. O.J. Loses the Civil Suit Against Him

Despite the initial verdict, the parents of Nicole Brown filed a civil suit against O.J. Simpson. Their hope was to find a measure of justice and peace.

The civil suit was free of the theatrics and incidentals that made the O.J. case infamous. It also featured quite a bit more evidence than was introduced in the original case.

Ultimately, O.J. was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the Brown and Goldman families. Most agreed that O.J. would never be able to pay the debt.
