14. Higgins
It’s not often a dog has such lustrous career as the dog Higgins. On the show, Higgins character never received a formal name beyond Dog or Boy. When he first arrives in Petticoat Junction, the daughters kick around a few names, Spike, Prince, Byron, but never make a decision. It was no matter to Higgins. He would go on to be Benji in the famous 1974 movie by the same name. Hollywood treated Higgins well. He lived until age 17.
