Take a Trainride Back to Petticoat Junction

6. Hootersville Cannonball

The train used for many of the exterior shots of the Cannonball train was a real train, a somewhat famous steam locomotive from the Sierra Railroad. The numbers 4-6-0 on the ten-wheeler locomotive appear in many films, including the last of the Back to the Future movies. The first time it appeared in a film was in 1929, in The Virginian, starring Gary Cooper.
