Super Wealthy Church Leaders in America

17. Cain’s Return

Cain and Saddam | truthforfree.com

When, in the 1950s, Cain became disillusioned with the corruption in his profession, he disappeared. He stayed away until the 1980s when he took work with the CIA. Yes, you read that right. He worked with a couple of notable figures, Bill Clinton and a guy named Saddam Hussein. Around the same time, Cain took the stage again, preaching around the world about restoring purity and holiness to the church.

16. Cain’s Fall and Rise

Everything was going great for Cain until a trio of ministers confronted him on his homosexuality. At first, he denied it so they released a public statement in October 2004, outing Cain. By 2005, Cain stepped down, confessing online that he struggled with two transgressions, booze and boys (not his words). Super charismatic, Cain survived, re-emerging in 2007 as a public speaker. Apparently, he cured himself of all that gayness. To date, his net worth is well over $1 million. He still preaches in Santa Maria, California.
