11. Bloody Nicholas
Nicholas II’s reign as the last Tsar of Russia went down as a bloody time in the country’s history. It was so bad, the violence earned Nicholas the title of “Nicholas the Bloody.” Some 3.3-million Russians died in The Great War, which Nicholas entered against the wishes of his countrymen, but it wasn’t only the war that brought him down. The country was already starving when the war started, everyone but the Romanovs that is. To this day, Nicholas Romanov remains one of the fourth wealthiest figures of modern times. The people of Russia also held Nicholas responsible for the deaths suffered during the war with Japan, the suppression of the 1905 Revolution, and the anti-Semitic activities of his empire.
