Moving Up in the World
Most childhood actors fizzle out of the spotlight by the time they become a teenager. However, Johnny Crawford remained in the Hollywood scene as a teen idol and also as a singer. He was fairly good at it too with a total of five hits that made the Top 40 in the 1960’s. His biggest and most popular hit was “Cindy’s Birthday” which made it all the way to No. 8 on Billboard’s Top 100 in 1962. Pretty impressive for a young actor to have so much talent, and maybe even more importantly learning how to apply that talent in the most productive way.
