No shark jump
When Fonzie jumped his motorcycle over a shark in Happy Days, the term “jumping the shark” was born. That meant a show had crossed a line of creative no return. Everything after that would be garbage. TAPS never did that. When it went off the air, the show was at the top of its Neilson ratings. Two other shows accomplished this, “I Love Lucy,” and “Seinfeld.”
