Cloud of smoke and debris spreads into city
One had to get far outside the financial district to avoid the cloud of pulverized building and smoke spreading north. The damage was far beyond municipal cleanup. Residents, victims, and first responders suffered years on with respiratory problems and cancer. By many accounts, the death toll of the attack still climbs as people die from their afflictions.
