North Tower before collapse
When the second plane hit the South Tower, nobody could have imagined it would fall, let alone fall first. In this picture, the top floors of the North Tower smolder threatening to take it down. Beneath the tower, a cloud of debris lingers from the South’s collapse. It took only 102 minutes from the first plane hitting until both buildings collapsed.
