Damage to Pentagon
The Pentagon remains the only Washington building hit in the attack. The damage by comparison to New York was more recoverable, save the lost lives. We can’t know for sure where the fourth plane was supposed to strike, but many believe it was the White House. The passengers of that flight, United Flight 93, attempted to overtake their captors, but the attackers crashed the plane in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
