Now it’s Ground Zero
What astounded most people was not as much the attacks themselves, but that the towers fell. The site formally known as the WTC became Ground Zero in a matter of hours. The term ground zero used to mean any place where tragedy struck prior to that day. After 9/11, it took on an association with the event. In one case, the company Star Trac rebranded their line of fitness equipment formerly known as “Ground Zero.”
