Kimberly Williams-Paisley played Gretchen. Gretchen was the sister of Lyndsey’s fiance. She started dating Alan. In order to impress her, goes by his alter-ego ‘Jeff Strongman’. Alan gets carried away with his new identity, enjoying the lie just a little too much, and even calls Barry (Walden’s friend) his son says that Barry’s apartment his own home. Ironically, Gretchen opens up to Alan about her ex-husband and says he lied to her all the time. Eventually, the truth comes out about Alan’s lies, and she leaves him.
