Legendary Kingpin Pablo Escobar Was A Man Unlike Any Other

Willing to Put His Money Where His Mouth Was

After the United States government became aware of Escobar and the massive amount of contraband he was bringing into the country, they tried to extradite him from Columbia to the U.S. However Pablo wasn’t going to give up that easy. He confronted the Columbian government and offered to pay off the entire country’s national debt in order to change the extradition laws and make it impossible for the U.S. to get him, or at least more difficult. The amount he offered to pay was reportedly over $10 billion (that’s billion with a “B”)!

Cost of Doing Business

Yet another fact that tries to put the scale of the fortune that Escobar and the Medellin cartel acquired during their time in power is one that’ll be hard to wrap your head around. Apparently they spent more than $2,500 a month just on rubber bands needed bundle the seemingly infinite wads of cash that kept on rolling in. That’s a lot of rubber bands.
