Landon dyed his hair
Michael Landon was famous for his hair. As a boy, he grew it out to harness strength, like Samson in the bible. But by the time Landon was 20, most of his hair was gray. To keep his apparent age, Landon started using Clairol Medium Ash Brown while in Bonanza. When that show was over, he kept up the look for Little House.
