On a hot day, the inside of the costumes can reach temperatures of 130. They’re not only hot, costumes can also be heavy. Back in the early days of the park, like the 1960s, cast members used to pass out. Today’s costumes have better ventilation, and cast members have limitations on how long they can stay out in costume.
