20. The Banana Man

Remember the clown-like character that was constantly pulling random bananas and many other props from his costume and other parts of the set? Of course you do because everyone loved the Banana Man! The character was originally developed by Adolf Proper, but the actor that portrayed it on the show as Sam Levine. It was a huge success too, not only was The Banana Man featured on Captain Kangaroo, but you could also see the occasional appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
