1. At the Time, Nobody was Better

Technically, Sesame Street has since surpassed it, but when Captain Kangaroo was in it’s prime there was nobody better at providing a children’s program. And even still to this day, the Captain and his open format TV show remains on the short list of longest running programs as on its kind. Mister Rogers Neighborhood and Sesame Street are the only programs that ran longer.
