5. Endless Support

There seemed to be endless support for Bob Keeshan and the Captain Kangaroo television program. And there isn’t a better example of that than when Keeshan suffered a near fatal heart attack in 1981. While recuperating in the hospital after a triple bypass surgery, Keeshan was inundated with get well soon cards and gifts from his many loyal fans. That must’ve been an amazing feeling for him to know that the work he’d spent a majority of his life on made an impact on the people that tuned in to watch his program.
