6. Color TV
By 1960, most major network television shows were starting to be broadcast in the new technology known as color TV rather than black and white. It was a major change in how viewers experienced the programs they were watching. Although, even with its ongoing success, Captain Kangaroo didn’t add colorization to the mix until 1967. It’s possible it was done this way because the show aired during the week, but nonetheless, it finally made the jump and never turned back.
