14. Almost Hit the Cutting Room Floor

With Dirty Dancing being such a cult classic, you might be surprised to find out that the entire film was almost scrapped. When director Emile Ardolino and his team of editors turned in the first cut the producers hated it. As a matter of fact, one in particular told Emile to “burn the negative and collect the insurance.” Imagine how many romantic drama fans would’ve been deprived of the film had he taken that advice. Luckily though, Emile took another crack at it and the end result is the film we all know and love today.
