4. It’s Not a Party Without the “Sauce”

When you have a movie that’s almost entirely based around dancing, it’s only logical that a few dance parties would break out from time to time. At those parties, it’s only fitting that the alcohol flows freely. With all the rules put into place, you might think the producers would shut that down but actually, it was quite the contrary. Bergstein apparently encouraged the actors to “go with the flow” and start improvising with hopes that it would help them develop the characters even further.
