9. Not All Rumors Are True

There was a rumor going around for years that Patrick Swayze wasn’t the creators first choice to play the role of Johnny Castle. Although, it turns out that rumor was completely untrue. Writer, producer, and creator of the film Eleanor Bergstein was quick to clear up any of these rumors. She told a reporter in an interview with Yahoo Movies in 2017 that “Patrick was the only actor who was ever offered this [role], and he’s the only one we ever wanted.” It’s unclear where these rumors started, but it doesn’t really matter now that we know they were fake in the first place.
