19. Overnight Success
Prior to American Chopper, brother Mikey worked in the family trade of metalworking. He hated it. Paul Sr. was building bikes with his dad, but they weren’t getting rich from the work. Then, success hit like becoming a rockstar. The three men went from nobodies to somebodies. After that first season started airing on Discovery Channel, they couldn’t go out in public without fans pestering them for signatures. From that moment forward, the concept of “normal” would fade into a speck in the rearview mirror.
