Fashion designer and founder of the high-end Chanel brand, Coco Chanel had an amazing life filled with success. She was extremely ambitious and determined, which is fairly obvious considering the popularity of the Chanel brand as it is today. But one thing she never did throughout her 87 years on this planet is get married. She had a long list of high profile relationships, but none that developed into something real and longstanding. That was mainly by choice though, she once told a reporter “I never wanted to weigh more heavily on a man than a bird.” Many believe that was because she grew up as a child orphan which forced her to become both incredibly independent and resilient.
13. Oprah Winfrey

Arguably one of the most famous unmarried ladies nowadays would have to be the one and only Oprah Winfrey. Everyone knows she has Stedman Graham in her life and has been with him for the last 30 years or more. However, Oprah and Stedman have never walked down the aisle together and that’s not expected to change anytime soon. When asked directly about her getting married, the big O had this to say, “I’m not a traditional woman and I haven’t had a traditional life, and I think that had Stedman and I gotten married, we certainly wouldn’t have stayed married.” An interesting way of looking at it, you have to admit. But with an estimated net worth of $3.1 billion at this point, maybe there’s some financial aspect to it.
