7. And Back to Comedy Again

For the 1971 movie, How to Frame a Figg, Knotts played Hollis Alexander Figg, a bookkeeper’s assistant. It was a comedy in the traditional Knotts’ style of delivery, bug-eyes and all. His character is a nobody who suffers embezzlement accusations and has to fight to clear his name. He also has to fight timecard machines.
