There were rumors circulating at one time that Bob Keeshan fought alongside Lee Marvin in Iwo Jima. And while we do know he served in the military for some period of time, it turns out that he never fought in Japan because he enlisted too late. But that didn’t stop the rumors from flying all the way to the point that they reached Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show.

One of the lowest jobs on the totem pole of show business is what they call a page. The basic job duties of a page could mean anything, usually the jobs that needed to be done that nobody else wants to do are given to a page. It’s usually a thankless, low paying job, but one that could potentially lead to bigger and better opportunities. And that’s exactly what happened to Bob Keeshan.
