3. Memories Live Forever
Bob Keeshan, a.k.a. Captain Kangaroo, was an important part of countless childhoods during his long tenure as a TV entertainer. Not only was he loved and respected by the millions of viewers that tuned to watch him, but also his peers. During his long and decorated career, he received numerous awards, including a total of five Emmys. This made that day in January of 2004 when he passed away all the more difficult for his friends, family, and anyone else close to him. However, the laughter and knowledge he brought to so many will live on in their memories forever.
2. The Captain at the Top of the World
There’s no question that Bob Keeshan impacted countless people in this world, but none moreso than his grandson Britton. And Britton proved that when at the young age of 22 years old, he reached the summit of the great Mount Everest. While at the top, Britton took out a couple photos of his grandfather and buried them in the snow where his legacy could live on at the top of the world. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, when Britton reached the summit he became the youngest person in history to reach the top of all seven major peaks.
