14. Folks Hate Vader, Even Lucas
The perception of Darth Vader as someone evil runs so deeply through the social consciousness, not even the prequels could redeem him. Vader is bad and that’s all that matters. It is ironic that the actor who played Vader, David Prowse, also suffers Vader’s fate, but for different reasons. George Lucas has banned Prowse from Lucasfilm events, due to Prowse’s bitter reaction to wearing a mask in every film. According to Prowse, Lucas promised audiences would know his face in time, but that time never came. Prowse did not handle the situation well, apparently.
