1. Star Wars‘ Composer Lost to Himself

The man who composed the music for Star Wars, John Williams, also composed the score for another film that same year, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The Academy nominated both films for Best Original Score. Star Wars took the win, but Williams was going to win either way. In fairness, he was up against stiff competition. The score for Close Encounters was no joke. In an alternate galaxy far, far away the award went to Close Encounters because Lucas inserted Jar Jar Binks into Star Wars.
