8. Star Wars Reflected Real Life
As the story of the franchise follows endless war across the galaxy, it provided more than one opportunity to comment on history. The story in Attack of the Clones, albeit ruined by Jar Jar Binks and other silliness, drew a direct parallel to World War Two. In the movie, the Senate grants the Supreme Chancellor emergency powers to wage war. They believe they have to in order to defeat the separatists. Lucas ripped this off directly from what happened in Nazi Germany with Adolf Hitler.
