9. Star Wars Almost Started a Real War

When they filmed the scenes for the first film in Tunisia, the Libyan government (anyone remember Ghaddafi?) took notice of the Jawa’s sand crawler. At the time, the film crew and equipment was quite close the Libyan border of Tunisia. The sand crawler, with its tracked wheels like a tank, looked to them like a piece of military equipment. The Libyans threatened military action if they did not remove the Sandcrawler so Lucas went ahead and moved it rather than starting a war. Smart move, Lucas.
