4. My So-Called Life: ‘So-Called Angels’
My So-Called Life was a revolution in teen dramas, even if it was only one season long. The show was known for its superb writing, and it’s ability to bring more than a few tears forward. But the Christmas episode easily takes the cake for its emotional brutality. A chain reaction starts with Rick fighting with his abusive uncle, resulting in him becoming homeless. When Angela tries to help him it causes tension between her and her mother, which is already taxed enough. The episode is brought back around when a homeless girl offers to help. The homeless girl, who is played by American musician Juliana Hatfield, then turns into an angel and saves the day. It may sound corny, but I guarantee it will win you over this holiday season.
