Everyone loved Andy. His reputation always preceded him, even years after the show ended. As these things go, everyone has fans and critics. Bavier found Griffith’s pranks unnerving. There was an ever-present tension between the two off-camera. In 1989, Bavier finally passed away. Before the end, she reached out to Griffith to apologize for being so difficult.
